Exhausting Humans

Feb 14, 2019

Hi everyone, I hope you are having a magical week filled with unicorns and rainbows.

For me, I’m thinking we need The Purge to become a reality. I feel like the past few weeks I’ve been cursed by “the people of no value” who just cause drama, waste my time, and generally are just shitty to be around. Both in work and life. The podcast, mind you, has been the one bright light in the mix.

UNHINGED business cardsPodcasting for me is really the perfect distraction. Have an annoying or exhausting night or work? Wake up and rock a pod out. Need to decompress over Ghetto Monky neighbor issues, rock a pod out. You see the trend here. The podcast is the soothing balance to life. Whether it’s recording, editing, blogging here on the site, picking up business cards (check them out to the right), creating social media content. Whatever aspect of the process. That is where all of my positive energy is now going.

It’s working too. Thanks to every single person who reads my Transmissions blog here or on the UNHINGED podcasts page and listens to my content. THANK YOU. This all keeps rolling forward because I’m motivated from the feedback, compliments, advice, etc.

The irony of working with business owners and established executives by night, and then going off on random life stories by day amuses me. There has always been a massive disparity between what I do for a living, and what I do on my own time. I’m certainly not following “corporate culture” by any established sense of the word. Unicorns and rainbows are even in my corporate profile. Crazy? Maybe. It does break the ice almost immediately with new people. “Steve what’s with the unicorns?” yeah, I’ve heard that question many times before.

Those exhausting humans though? I just need to avoid them all the best I can. 360 degrees of protection. Especially with the show here growing the last thing I need is to be wasting time with the vampires of the world. Vampires because they DRAIN YOU.

That’s it. I’m done. Late night rant is over.

I’m recording for the podcast tomorrow hopefully. That is the plan. Goal is to get it online for Friday morning. I do want to pick a schedule and stick with it. I know right now it’s just posting up whenever I have the chance. I spend a lot of time right now reading how to improve the audio of the show. The quality is there, my vocal performances need work. Trust me, I’m working on it! From speech therapy style lessons to physical mic placement lessons.

There is so much more to this than I ever expected. I’m not going to lie. I thought I could just plug in a cheap USB microphone like my Blue Snowball but it wasn’t what I needed. One day I’ll take some pics of the podcast cave here and share it with everyone. Maybe next blog post will be that. Gear / style / etc. and give a glimpse of the behind the scenes of this growing little machine I’m trying to build.

Okay. That’s it. I’m going to announce my OFFICIAL sign off on this post, every podcast, and anywhere else we are getting UNHINGED.

Love and lizards baby,

-Steve
